Shine and Seam Impressions
      A common problem that finishers face shine and seam impressions. Their appearances, causes remedies as well as some preventive steps are listed below.
Appearance:
      • Shine is slick or glazed usually at seams or other thick areas.
      • Seam impressions are the outline of a seam impressed in the outer fabric
Causes:
      • Too much pressure
      • Press padding too hard
      • Vacuuming with the head down
Remedies:
      • Steam lightly and brush with soft bristle brush
      • Reclean
      • For seam impressions, iron under the seams
Prevention:
      • Careful control of head pressure for various textiles
      • Change press paddings at regular intervals
      • Vacuum only after releasing the head
      • Steam only long enough for steam to penetrate fabric
